Can I safely use gold bond powder on my dog, for hot spots?

no gold bond is for humans you can go to a pet store and buy something specifically for hot spots we had to get some for my dog but i forgot what it was called I just remember there was a puppy on the label and it was yellow liquidCan I safely use gold bond powder on my dog, for hot spots?
You can use hemorrhoid medication on the hot spots, it takes away the inflammation %26amp; relieves the itching. It is not long acting so until you can get to a vet you can use it or a cortizone cream or spray. Any of the anti itch meds will work on dogs too.

Wash the area real good with a medicated shampoo %26amp; let it soak for 10 to 15 minutes before you wash it off. You will find that there is some real slimmy stuff covering the affected area %26amp; you need to let the shampoo do it's job of loosening this stuff. Rince well %26amp; if still slimmy try to wipe it off with paper towel so that the area is dry %26amp; not oozing stuff. Then apply which ever you choose to the dry hot spot. Wash before treatment everytime. You may have to apply your stuff a couple or three times a day depending on the severity.

You do need to have your dog seen by a vet %26amp; possibly get a prednizone shot. Your vet will be able to help you more for a long run treatment.

Good luckCan I safely use gold bond powder on my dog, for hot spots?
Why would you want to when they sell the medicine in Walmart that is made FOR dogs? Would you eat kitten nursing milk in your cereal if it where cheaper than milk? Of course not!! Your dog may be your best friend but that doesn't make him human.
I would not use gold bond powder on hot spots. kinda sounds like money may be a issue. If this is so. shave the area where the hot spots are scrub them with a good anitbacterial soap (rinse well) (might hate that) and then u can spray the affected area with cortiaid (walmart) . the spray is for itching and inflammation. The coriaid can be found in the bandage department usually. The cortiaid will sting a little but repeat it often.
Probably.

Try this!
Gold Bond is a good preventative, but if he already has hot spots, they are infected and need treatment from the vet.
