First go out and buy/borrow the book ';The ABC's of reloading'; this will give you an intro into what you are about to under take. I then recommend getting two reloading manuals one from a powder company and one from a bullet manufacture. However I wouldn't pass up a reloading manual from a reloading equipment manufacture. It's these manual that have the reloading date you need to load you cartridge.
The cheapest kit to start reloading is the Lee Classic Loader kit. It is usually less than $25. If you like having your hands tied to what loads you can use and love playing whack-a-mole this kit is for you.
Next step up is the Lee hand press kit. It unlike the classic loader the hand press use standard dies. It still is not a bench mounted press and forces you to muscle the brass.
The Lee Challenger Kit is one of the best single press to start with. It's cheap and comes with most items needed to start loading. You'll still need dies, a tumbler %26amp; sifter, case length gauge for the supplied trimmer, one or two loading trays and a good caliper.
Powder for the .45 ACP, I'd first recommend Alliant's Bullseye. Next is Winchester's 231. Primer is a large pistol primer I try to use Winchester and then CCI, if using the Lee hand primer your really limited to these two primer manufactures. Bullets are left up to what you like. Many reload 185 gr bullets for target work, but I still mainly use FMJ 230gr bullets. One can also go with a lead or a plated bullet if you choose or find a good deal on.What's the best and cheapest way to get into reloading 45acp? What is good to use ( powder, primer, %26amp; bullet)?
Best and cheapest are not compatible. Check out the Lee dies and their presses are very inexpensive.
With the 45 ACP, I use a large pistol primer and my favorite bullet is a 230 grain cast bullet.
The best powders I've used are ';Universal,'; ';Unique,'; and ';Bullseye.';
Get a good reloading manual and read all the safety warnings carefully. Both Hornady and Speer publish excellent reloading manuals.
Remember that SAFETY always comes first. Then enjoy building the best cartridges you will ever shoot.What's the best and cheapest way to get into reloading 45acp? What is good to use ( powder, primer, %26amp; bullet)?
A friend introduced me to reloading. he had a single stage press; tedious work. I jumped into reloading with a Dillon 550B progressive press. That was about 30 years ago. I am still using the press and use to reload for almost every handgun cartridge except the 41 mag and the 500 mag.
My favorite load for the .45ACP is: Starline brass, CCI large pistol primer, 200 gr. semi-wadcutter lead bullet, and 5 grains of WW231 powder. Nice plinking round.
I agree on reading up on all the info on reloading and a few books before you dive in and buys lots of equipment. You also need time and lots of it to learn read and try it out for yourself. If you know some one who reloads...that is a good start to learn all the basics and tips or maybe there is a gun club where you can find some reloaders.....
