I have been reloading for over 35+ years, and have manuals from RCBS, Speer, Sierra, Hodgdon, and Hornady, among others, most of which are older than posters on this forum, and I NEVER rely on memory when reloading even my most favorite loads. This is after WELL over half a million reloads! (I quit trying to guesstimate the number YEARS ago!)
Take it from an ol' timer, BUY the books %26amp; USE 'em! They will tell you EVERYTHING you need to know!
P.S: One of the Ten Commandments of Reloading:
';Alcohol and Powder DO NOT MIX!';
When you reload, be STONE COLD SOBER!
As others have said, NEVER rely on anyone else's hearsay advice, no matter HOW much experience they claim to have! It may be B.S. or with some of the sicko's out there, it could be a set-up. ONLY rely on info from commercial manuals, established magazines, or bonafide websites.What's the best powder for reloading 150gr bullets in 30.06 cartridge?

Hodgdon's has a good website.
See above
I bought the Hornady recipe book. I load hornady (as the retailers in our area carry them.) .. Speer is so expensive.. I like their boattails and have used them a couple of times.
I use H4350 and sierra game king bullets spbt
Will shoot a 1.75 inch 10 shot group at 200 yards M1917 made by remington.
But there is no best powder, no magic bullet either. You will have to try several powders and bullets. Your rifle will tell you what it likes
Try Accurate 2015 and Accurate 4350. 2015 is on the fast side, but from my experience is a bit better for both accuracy and velocity.
i use imr4350, but different guns like different loads so get the manuals load some a few grains different and see what shoots best for you this is the fun part in reloading is working up a load for your rifle, after powder you get into seating depth and even changing primers(different brands) all to improve accuracy
